Home / Services

Services & example prices

Everything that keeps the house running.

Heating, cooling, hot water, power and the building around them. Here's what each service involves, the signs it's time to call, and example price ranges so you know roughly where you stand before we visit.

Heat pumps & air conditioning

A heat pump heats and cools from one outdoor unit, and in most homes it's the biggest single comfort upgrade you can make. We size every system with a room-by-room heat-loss calculation rather than a rule of thumb, because an oversized unit cycles on and off, costs more and wears out sooner.

What's included

  • Room-by-room load calculation before any quote
  • Ducted, ductless mini-split and hybrid systems
  • Coil cleaning, refrigerant checks and tune-ups
  • Repairs on most major equipment
  • Thermostat setup and a walk-through of the controls

Call us when

  • Some rooms never quite reach temperature
  • The outdoor unit ices up or never stops running
  • Bills creep up with no change in how you live
  • An older AC needs an expensive repair

Example prices Tune-up $149 · Single-zone ductless from $4,800 · Whole-home ducted heat pump $11,000–$18,000

02 / Heating

Furnaces, boilers & radiant floors

Whether your heat comes from a forced-air furnace, a boiler and radiators, or warm water running under the floor, it should start reliably on the first cold night. An annual service is the cheapest insurance there is, and it's when we spot the small problems before they become no-heat calls.

What's included

  • Gas and oil furnace tune-ups and safety checks
  • Heat-exchanger inspection and combustion testing
  • Boiler pumps, valves and expansion tanks
  • Radiant floor manifolds, zoning and balancing
  • Carbon-monoxide check on every fuel-burning appliance

Call us when

  • Heat is uneven, or rooms take ages to warm
  • The system short-cycles, bangs or whistles
  • The burner flame looks yellow or flickers
  • A radiant zone won't come up to temperature

Example prices Furnace or boiler tune-up $139 · Most repairs $180–$650 · Radiant rebalance from $295

03 / Plumbing

Water heaters & water treatment

Running out of hot water mid-shower is avoidable. We install tankless and high-efficiency tank heaters sized to your household, and treat the water itself when it's hard, tastes off or leaves scale on everything it touches.

What's included

  • Tankless and tank water heater installs and swaps
  • Yearly descaling flush for tankless units
  • Under-sink reverse-osmosis drinking water
  • Whole-house filtration and softening
  • A water test before we recommend anything

Call us when

  • Hot water runs out sooner than it used to
  • Rusty water, or rumbling from the tank
  • White scale on taps and shower glass
  • Water that tastes or smells of chlorine

Example prices Tankless descale $165 · Under-sink RO installed from $650 · Tankless heater installed $3,800–$6,200

04 / Electrical

Panels, surge protection & lighting

Heat pumps, induction ranges and EV chargers all ask more of your panel than it was built for. We check what you actually have, upgrade only where it's needed, and protect everything downstream with a whole-house surge protector.

What's included

  • Load calculations and panel upgrades
  • Whole-house surge protection at the panel
  • GFCI and AFCI protection where code requires
  • LED recessed lighting and fixture swaps
  • Electrical safety checks for home buyers

Call us when

  • A breaker trips again and again
  • Outlets feel warm or lights flicker (call straight away)
  • You're planning a heat pump, EV charger or new kitchen
  • A home inspector flagged your panel

Example prices Safety check $129 · Whole-house surge protector from $425 · 200-amp panel upgrade $2,800–$4,500

05 / Energy

Insulation & energy upgrades

Most homes lose more heat through the attic and the gaps around the edges than through any window. Fixing that first means every system in the house works less hard, and it's often the best-value job on this page.

What's included

  • Energy walk-through with a written, prioritised list
  • Attic air sealing and insulation top-ups
  • Spray foam for rim joists and open walls
  • Dehumidifiers for damp, musty basements
  • Help with rebate paperwork where programs apply

Call us when

  • Upstairs is too hot in summer and too cold in winter
  • Ice dams form along the roof edge
  • The basement smells damp or musty
  • You want your next heat pump to be a smaller one

Example prices Energy walk-through $195, credited if you go ahead · Attic seal and top-up $2,200–$4,800 · Basement dehumidifier from $1,450

06 / Energy

Solar & EV chargers

Solar and EV charging both start at the electrical panel, which is why it helps to have an electrician plan them. We design around your real capacity and your roof, and we'll tell you plainly if solar doesn't make sense for your house.

What's included

  • Roof, shading and panel capacity assessment
  • Solar design, permits, install and utility paperwork
  • Level 2 home EV chargers, indoors or out
  • Load management so charger and heat pump can share
  • Yearly solar and inverter checks

Call us when

  • An electric car is arriving soon
  • Your roof is due for replacement (re-roof first, then solar)
  • You want to know if solar pays back on your house
  • An existing system is producing less than it should

Example prices Level 2 EV charger installed $1,100–$2,400 · Solar assessment free · Solar systems quoted per project
